Excel Dryer, innovator of the original, high speed, energy efficient XLERATOR® commercial hand dryer, has teamed up with the Boston Public Schools in Boston, Massachusetts, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) in Los Angeles, California, and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts, to support Green Apple through several projects that are registered for the annual Green Apple Day of Service.
Excel Dryer challenges local school administrators to “Get Caught Green Handed” by installing high speed, energy efficient hand dryers to reduce their facilities’ carbon footprint. Installing XLERATOR® or the new XLERATOReco® hand dryers also represents a 95% cost savings versus paper towels, eliminates their labour and waste while creating a more hygienic washroom environment. These dryers are GreenSpec Listed, Made in USA Certified® and helps qualify for several LEED® v4 Credits.
This challenge and initiative are lessons that can have a broad impact across each district: teaching students about the importance of the environment as well as how to calculate the impact they have on it.
Commercial facilities can calculate their own annual savings utilising Excel Dryer’s customised cost savings and environmental impact calculator with only four variables:
- The number of cases of paper towels used annually
